PAINT THE TOWN BLUE
RSU Homecoming is coming up and The Biology Club will be participating in the Paint the Town Blue Event. We do not currently have an assigned window, but Brock is working on that. If anyone has a preference of business, please send us a message and let us know as this would be a great opportunity to establish a professional relationship with a local business. Paint will be supplied to us, but we don't know if anything other materials will be supplied. Decorating will begin at a specified time on the Sunday of Homecoming week (November 16) and will continue through Tuesday (November 18). We will also have to clean up and tear down all of this once the event is over. Anyone who wants to help with decorating or clean up should sign up with Heather Jackson. Thanks everybody! See you there.

RSU Biology Club Attends 2014 Destination RSU

Rogers State University Biology Club was in attendance at the 2014 Destination RSU event held on November 8, 2014 at the RSU Claremore campus Centennial Center.  This annual event is a chance for high school seniors, juniors, and parents to meet RSU students and faculty, learn about degree plans and student organizations, and take a tour of the RSU Claremore campus.  The RSU Biology Club met many students who were interested in biology and informed these potential students about opportunities provided at RSU and how RSU values community involvement.  Unique qualities that help make RSU so special is the excellent support students receive from faculty and staff and field studies completed in science classes.  RSU's President, Dr. Larry Rice, further identified some of the unique qualities of RSU, including the 120 acre on-site Conservation Education Reserve that is available to students for hands on learning, a run on one of the many trails, or just a quiet place to study and enjoy the great outdoors.  The RSU Biology Club table featured Mrs. Glass' Ball Python, Buffy.  Many attendants enjoyed the opportunity to observe the Python up close, and some brave individuals even held the beautiful python.  The RSU Biology Club was voted best table and will be treated to donuts, graciously provided by Daylight Doughnuts in Claremore, OK, at their next meeting.  Go Hillcats!
